Meet the Counsellor
Hi, I’m Sydney.
I am a counsellor, artist, and someone who knows firsthand what it's like to need support that didn't exist yet.
A few years ago I was hit by a car and experienced a severe concussion. The recovery was confusing, painful, and grief-filled, and finding adequate support was a real challenge. That experience is what brought me to this work — and it shapes how I show up for every client. I know what it feels like to have a brain and body that aren't behaving the way they used to, and to need healing that meets you where you actually are.
I also live with PPRCA, a condition that has caused progressive peripheral vision loss. Disability isn't something I observe from the outside — it's part of my daily life, and that shapes everything about how I practice.
I'm a Master Practitioner in Clinical Counselling – Provisional (MPCC-Provisional #4747), in good standing with the Canadian Professional Counselling Association. My approach draws on somatic practice, expressive arts, movement, and sensory exploration — tools that help with emotional processing, nervous system regulation, and self-expression when words aren't enough. I also bring a background in wellness, energy healing, and years of hands-on care work with disabled and neurodivergent folks.
Outside the counselling room, you'll find me in nature, making art, baking something, and nurturing the relationships that matter most to me.
